We're a family church seeking to care for people in the community and in so doing to win the correct to share with them our faith in Jesus Christ. Our church was established in 1963 and is at the middle of the Beacon Lough Estate, Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. We currently have always enjoyed a reputation for being friendly and welcoming with an emphasis on serving the community around the church and welcome visitors to all our activities.

We would identify ourselves as Evangelical; that is we believe that the Gospel (or Good News) of Jesus Christ is the most important message that any person can receive. This message, as given in the Bible, is that faith in Jesus is the only way that people can be rescued from a self-centred and unfulfilling existence and be given a new life in Him.

read morePrayer is the core of our worship here at Beacon Lough Baptist Church. We believe that problems can be solved through prayer, that attitudes can be changed by prayer, and that God deserves our praise and thanks with prayer. The biblical references to prayer are too numerous to be quoted, there are hundreds of them. Apart from personal prayer times, we pray at our Sunday services, and at our mid-week Bible Studies. Each week on Saturdays at 8 am people pray together at the church, and every two weeks on a Tuesday an open prayer time is held.
