Woodlands Castle was founded in 1810, and was remodelled and enlarged by Richard Carver c1833 for Mrs Lock. The house originally a farm house is far more elaborate than you would expect from a late eighteenth century early nineteenth century building. With its picturesque fasade in the then fashionable
