For over 200 years the church has been an important part of local village life, but has impacted the wider community and surrounding towns and villages. As our name suggests we're a Baptist church, which means that we baptise individuals when they confess their own personal faith in Christ, and the church is governed by its own members seeking the will of Christ in all we do. We're not part of a denomination but we're affiliated to the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC) and share its Basis of Faith.

read moreWe believe that every person's greatest need is to know God and that this has been made possible through his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Being in relationship with him leads to true joy. There is one God, who exists eternally in three distinct but equal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is unchangeable in his holiness, justice, wisdom and love. He is the almighty Creator, Saviour and Judge who sustains and governs all things according to his sovereign will for his own glory.
