Lane End Surgery
Doctors & Clinics in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear
Lane End Surgery is located near the busy junction known as Four Lane Ends, where Benton Road crosses Benton Park Road. The practice has developed from a long-standing wife and husband partnership who worked from their own home. They retired in 1990/1991 but the practice continues to use the extensively developed and modernised house from which the practice grew. This gives the practice a homely and informal feel as well as giving a sense of continuity with our past.

read morePlease note: we are closed between 1pm - 2pm, every Tuesday for staff training. A mobile telephone number is available for patients who cannot wait until the practice opens. We are also open 6.30pm - 8.00pm Tuesday and Thursday and 7.30am - 8.00am for patients with appointments. Please note these appointments are pre bookable and not released on the day. Booking in advance is recommended. The practice is not open for collection of prescriptions, reports etc during this time. Patients with early morning and evening appointments will need to use the buzzer system next to the front door to gain entry.
read moreThe practice operates a GP appointments system with a daily mixture of same day and pre-bookable appointments. This allows patients who prefer to book ahead to make an appointment in advance, whilst also catering for those who need/want to be seen on the day. Some patients prefer to try to see their regular doctor. Whilst we will try our best to accommodate this, unfortunately it is not always possible to make an appointment with a particular doctor at the time/day requested. This may be because the doctor is already booked or absent from the practice.

Almost all prescriptions are now signed and sent electronically to a pharmacy. This system is more efficient, faster and safer than using paper prescriptions. Sending prescriptions directly to the pharmacy saves patients coming into the practice. If you have not chosen a pharmacy for your prescription to be sent to please let us know which one you would like to nominate.
