Not only does it allow you to take time to relax the body and mind but you gently learn yoga poses & breathing techniques that will help improve your flexibility & relaxation throughout pregnancy and also show you helpful positions for labour.
As a newbie to the area its a lovely class to meet other mums to be. Also loved the yoga studio, beautiful calming space.

I believe practicing the exercises regularly and taking that time out to attend class helped me alleviate any physical and mental strains that came along with my pregnancy journey.
My baby was born via caesarian section and I myself was surprised at some the benefits I experienced first hand, and I wanted to share a few of these with you.
Firstly, maintaining mobility of the spine is particularly important for mothers undergoing an epidural or spinal block. I feel that through regular yoga I was able to maintain as much flexibility as possible, and this undoubtedly minimised the discomfort and risks associated with undergoing this procedure (as well as keeping back pain to a minimum throughout pregnancy).
Secondly don't be mistaken that the breathing techniques you work on every week are just for natural delivery. I used them throughout induction, surgery and recovery and it helped me to remain calm and focused throughout an unknown ever changing process.
Finally, the time that I benefited most was surprisingly during my surgical recovery. It was only then that I saw the true benefits of the 'strong through the leg' exercises that, during class, made me do a little inward groan and eye roll! Whilst in the early recovery stage I relied almost entirely on these exercises to get me through basic daily tasks comfortably.
In summary, if your thinking about attending one of Sarah's yoga classes, then definitely give it a go.
You will never regret the classes you do attend.... Only the ones you don't!

YOGA with Sarah
read moreMy yoga journey began over 12 years ago when I started yoga to stretch and tone my body and to find some balance and 'me time' out of my busy schedule. I soon fell in love with both the physical and the breathing and meditative practices. A yoga practice adapts and changes with you and so it has been present in many different forms throughout my life. Times when i needed a more physical practice and times when i needed to step back. It played a major role throughout my pregnancies and in my postnatal recovery.
