His background is in the furniture industry, he began his working life in 1975 training as a Furniture Polisher with a major furniture manufacturer in North London learning from the bottom up as he says. Before leaving the furniture industry in 1995 for a career change he had held managerial positions in several furniture firms in North London. He then worked for a sole practitioner in Walthamstow, London from 1995 to 2000 learning the key principles of accountancy, whilst studying for his qualification with the Association of Accounting Technicians.
