Burnout
read moreAlways follow the recommended burnout cycle and never place flasks closer than 15mm to the elements. Always ensure you do not over or under load your furnace, as this will affect the burnout cycle. Follow the recommended firing cycles keeping in mind the size of can, amount of cans in the oven and the type of oven being used. Decreasing the length of your burnout cycle will increase throughput, but may produce a lower standard of surface finish or, in some cases, lead to mild flashing. Ensure the flask holds at casting temperature for a minimum of 1 hour before casting.
