Medical Center in London We're a huge GP Practice in the heart of Greenwich, catering to a diverse group of patients. Our experienced and friendly practice staff supply NHS care to our 9, 000 patients, drawn from the local area. Together with several other local practices (Coldharbour Surgery in Eltham, The Hill Surgery in Chislehurst and the Campus Surgery at the University of Greenwich) we operate as Primecare Medical Services; this arrangement enables us to draw on a bigger pool of clinical team than would be the norm, ensuring greater continuity of care to our patients.

read moreIf you have a genuine problem, you should phone the Medical Centre and inform the receptionist that your problem is urgent. A doctor or nurse will try to see you the same day. If you are too ill to visit the surgery, telephone the centre and ask for a home visit. You will need to telephone us as early as possible in the day so that arrangements may be made. Home visits are very time consuming for the Doctors, and limit the number of patients they can see in the Medical Centre, so it is advisable that you try to come to the centre.

read moreAll of these sites face different challenges and cater for differing demographics so the collaborative arrangement has allowed our clinical staff to gain extensive expertise in caring for patients with wide ranging requirements of care, from the large student population of Avery Hill Campus to the residents of West Greenwich. Working together also allows us to share best practice in the running of the surgeries, resulting in better care for all of our patients and close relations with other health professionals throughout the area.
Prescription
read moreIf you are on a long term medication, you may be able to obtain repeat prescriptions without seeing the doctor. Let the receptionist know what you require, but please try to give 48 hrs' notice. Every three months, you will need to see a doctor or a nurse to review your medication unless agreed otherwise. Please come to the surgery and tell the receptionist the medication you require or write to us enclosing a self addressed stamped envelope. Alternatively, you could make arrangements with the local chemist of your choice to collect your prescriptions.
Prescription Form
read morePlease allow two working days before coming to the surgery to collect your prescription from the Medical Centre. If you have arranged with a local pharmacy to collect your prescription from them please note that in the Collection Point field and we will forward it on to them.
Registration
read moreIn order to register, please present to reception, where you will be given all the required paperwork and have the registration process explained to you. We also ask that you book an appointment with the practice nurse to have a new patient medical carried out. To register for NHS services you may need to provide proof of identity or eligibility. Our receptionists will be able to advise you on your eligibility and on what documents you may need to provide. If you are only visiting the area, we can provide emergency care to you as a Temporary Patient.
GP Training
read moreWe are an approved training practice and have been involved in training GP Registrars and Junior doctors. GP registrars are experienced hospital doctors who work with us for a year and during their time may wish to video their consultations with the patient's consent as part of their training assessment.
Appointments
read moreSame day - For patients with an urgent medical problem that requires a GP consultation on that day. The patient can phone the surgery in the morning and we will endeavour to give them an appointment for that day. If you would like to discuss more than one problem with the Doctor, or expect your appointment to last longer than ten minutes, please book a double appointment. Appointments are for one person only. These measures are to ensure that the Doctor can give you an appropriate length of consultation without inconveniencing our other patients.
