Testimonials

Ros
read moreFollowing surgery on a broken hip and elbow I was walking with a limp and had developed a frozen neck and shoulder. After just one week of physiotherapy with Rowan I was able to walk more easily. After three visits my shoulder felt easier. After the fifth visit I was able to be signed off.

read moreI saw Nicki about my knee Id had an arthroscopy but was still in pain and I was about to go skiing. Nicki was brilliant. She gave me some fantastic exercises that I could easily incorporate into my daily routine. It has made a huge difference and I cant recommend her highly enough.
Deborah
read moreI was struggling with pain in my arms and getting more and more tired as I rarely had a good nights sleep. Rowan suggested various work-place ergonomic improvements and gave physiotherapy combined with exercises. I cannot recommend the treatment highly enough and I now attend her pilates classes regularly. Its a commonly used phrase, but it is true for me it has changed my life.

High standard of teaching by qualified physiotherapists; classes are pacy with no gaps but smoothly linked exercises; different levels of challenge so you can push yourself harder or opt out of an element if it's too difficult. The key point is you feel fitter and more flexible afterwards!!

We are here to help, so please call us on 01223 914140 if you have any questions or would like to see a physiotherapist. Cambridge Physiotherapy
read moreIf you've ever thought it would be great if someone could 'oil' your painful joint like a stiff door hinge, then you might be interested in our injection clinic. Healthy joints naturally produce plenty of lubrication, called synovial fluid, which acts as a shock absorber and allows your joints to move smoothly without friction. Part of the synovial fluid is made up of a gel-like substance called Hyaluronic Acid, which breaks down if you develop osteoarthritis in one of your joints. Loss of Hyaluronic Acid means the synovial fluid becomes more watery and can't protect or lubricate your joint as effectively, causing inflammation of the inner membranes lining the joint and breakdown of the cartilage covering the bones, leading to pain and joint stiffness.
Clinical Pilates
read moreAs physiotherapists teaching pilates we have a unique perspective on the way people move and a detailed knowledge of postural problems. We understand how bodies heal and we know how and when pilates can be safely used to improve recovery. We modify pilates exercises to suit the level and needs of the individual giving a more intelligent and personalised routine. We can design a programme for you to practice at home and send it to you online with video links for you to follow. Under the new lockdown, you are allowed to make and attend any medical appointments should you need them.
Acupuncture
read moreSome physiotherapists are qualified to use acupuncture as part of treatment. At our Cambridge clinic we use tiny, disposable (single use) acupuncture needles to help relieve pain and promote healing and better sleep. Physios rarely use acupuncture alone. We combine acupuncture techniques with other ‘hands-on' treatments, advice and exercises as part of a full physiotherapy programme designed to help you recover as quickly as possible. Physiotherapists often acupuncture to treat sore spots (trigger points) in muscles as well.

You may have already made significant changes to your lifestyle to cope with your symptoms, changes that limit your sociability or effect your emotional wellbeing. And while your symptoms are entirely common, they are not an inevitability of childbirth or ageing and specialised treatment from a women's health physio can be life-changing.
