Payne and Payne were set up in Hanover Square in the late 1890's by brothers Frederick and Herbert Payne. They moved to our present premises approximately 90 years ago. Payne and Payne are still located in Hanover House and they opened a branch office in Willerby Square almost twenty years ago. Our aim statement is simply 'To supply nice quality legal advice at affordable prices to those that need them'

Exchanged upon a house, Without Planning

I purchased a house a while ago, and Payne and Payne has really caused a pain and pain. To allow a house to exchange when the whole back end of the house does not have planning is really a solicitor that needs a full brain transplant with a brain of more than IQ 110. This obviously illustrates a man that doesn't do his job professionally. I was recommended this person, and he acted like he was not on my side, and got on with the seller and seller's solicitor like he was at some cocktail party! Great for him connecting with old friends, however, you are supposed to still have your shirt and collar on and be acting for your client. No such luck, he charged me a fortune. I faced years and much cost hoping to gain retrospective planning, and might be asked to rip the back end of the house down. Not professional, he has caused years of stress. Go to the law society and continue to bang your own head against the wall with much speed till bloodied. Thanks, Pain and Pain!
