Glasgow Association for Mental Health is an independent organisation and is founded as one of the principal suppliers of mental health services in Greater Glasgow. The Association goals and to supply best quality support both to those who are experiencing mental health difficulties and to their carers. GAMH is dedicated to the principles of Social Inclusion and to raising the awareness and understanding of Mental Health issues. Established in 1978, we celebrated our twenty-5th anniversary in 2003.

We promote the mental health and wellbeing of people and their communities; providing more than 2000 hours of community based support every week to people in Glasgow. GAMH is registered by the Care Inspectorate and we receive high scores at inspection. Our current services are preventative and purposeful in nature and increase the factors known to protect and promote good mental health. We recognise the need to maintain and develop strong community partnerships with all GAMH stakeholders and the importance of having a focus and commitment to the wider mental health and recovery networks.

Young Carers
read moreGAMH Young Carers Project provides support to young people aged 12-21 caring for a family member with a mental health problem. The service has been in operation since 2000 and is funded by NHSGG&C and the Big Lottery. The project sits within the Glasgow Association for Mental Health which provides community based support to people affected by mental health problems. The primary aim of the project is to improve young people's resilience, confidence and life chances in a safe and supportive environment.
