Located close to the centre of Colchester, access is easy with a small car park available for patients. Our unit is staffed by a team of dental surgeons, oral surgeons and nurses exclusively dedicated to the management of cases on referral. Our anaesthetists have extensive experience in a range of sedation techniques for the care of both adult and paediatric dental patients.Oral surgery comprises over 80% of our cases. We treat over 100 patients each week from a wide referral area across Essex, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. We also accept by prior arrangement a limited number of cases for simple restorative treatment involving pain relief of acute symptoms.

read moreI feel as though I should leave a review as I was absolutely terrified of having my extraction. Especially after reading some of the negative reviews on here. I searched through all the reviews, for a review with my dentists name mentioned in it and couldnt find any, this made me feel worst. I had delayed my appointment as much as possible. For some reason I am terrified of dentists and the bad reviews made this worse. I spent many evenings before my appointment in tears and arrived at my appointment in tears also. The nurses were fantastic, they made me feel at ease. I was sat in the chair and it was over with, in what seemed like seconds.
Dr.Naveen Sunkada extracted my tooth, In less than 12mins (according to my husband, I dont remember) I didnt have any pain during and very little pain afterwards. So there you go, anybody else that may be searching for a review for Dr.Naveen Sunkada. I would highly recommend him. He did the job, easily, efficiently and without causing me any pain. It was nowhere near as bad as I had feared and Id got myself in a state over nothing, I wish I had the names of the amazing nurses as I would like to thank them for calming me down. Dont be put off by the outdated building or the negative reviews. I appreciate that this is just my experience, but I wish I hadnt delayed my appointment for so long, or let the reviews worry me so much. If I need any more extractions I will definitely be returning here. Thank you

read moreI have been attending this dentist over the last few months for dental treatment.Dr Azhar Bakhshi has always explained everything to me in detail and reassured me when I was nervous.Appointments are always in time and made as painless and comfortable as possible.I am currently having another 2 dental implants and have chosen Dr Azhar Bakhshi as I have full confidence in him and his dental nurses.The staff have always been friendly and surgery is a clean and calm environment.

read moreThis was my first time to have teeth extracted by sedation. Having had the scratch in the back of my hand, the blindfold placed over my , treatment began. I can honestly say that I felt no pain and or anything else. I was so surprised. All of the staff who attended to me during and after showed care and attention at all times. I do agree that bigger and better premises would be an asset to all.

read moreHad a tooth extracted under sedation in August. The original appointment had to be cancelled but a new date was arranged. The staff are brilliant. Very professional and helpful. The premises are terrible, totally unsuited to modern requirements. Wheelchair access is difficult if not impossible. Car parking inadequate. However given the cash starved NHS they do an amazing job. Can't give them 10 out of 10 but I would recommend any nervous patients to go there. They won't let you drive home after sedation so the local taxi service of a partner who drives is needed.

read moreI had a tooth extracted on the 9th November 2016. As usual for me, my imagination had been working overtime. I was really worried about being sedated and worried the tooth would take a long time to remove and be difficult. I also worried about how the gum would heal.
I arrived only just on time. Every member of staff was reassuring and gentle and professional. I sat back in the chair and hardly felt the needle the anesthetist, Rudi Swart, put into the back of my hand. I quickly felt relaxed. Dr.Azhar Bakhshi then numbed the area around the tooth and quickly removed it. It was all over in a matter of minutes with no pain or distress. I was given some instructions to follow and after a few more minutes I came home. It was all done so quickly. I really needn't have worried so much.
Today, 10th November, I am following the instructions and I have not required any pain relief. I think the wound is starting to heal nicely.
