Eltham Green Community Church
read moreWe are a church found around the Eltham area, currently worshipping in various homes and together in Community Groups over Zoom and Google Meet. Our church building sits in the centre of the Page Estate in Eltham. Originally started as a house church we continue to enjoy a real family atmosphere and a desire to live out what it means to be Christ. We worship in an informal way but not casual. We love God and we love our community. We also operate a quality Coffee Shop from our premises which is currently open from Wednesday to Friday from 9am to 1pm, Saturday 9am to 12pm and serves as a great meeting place for the church and local community.
About Us
read moreFormed in Eltham in 1975 as Eltham Green Fellowship at 4 Eltham Green, the church grew within the next 18 months to 100 people gathering in the home. God was moving in amazing ways at the time we moved three doors up to 1 Eltham Green for the main meetings while the Sunday School remained at number 4. Soon the numbers had reached 130 people. We had to soon move on as the gathering was causing problems for the neighbours. In 1981 after some temporary homes the church purchased the Methodist Church building on the corner of Haimo Road, a short distance from Eltham Green.
Meet the team at EGCC
read moreEGCC is led by an Eldership Team. The team is led by our Lead Pastor John Watson who will seek God for the vision of the church. We take responsibility together for the life and care of the church. The Elders are supported by many others who take a leadership role whether that be in leading Community Groups, Youth and Children's ministry and other church and community activities. The Eldership does not do it alone, the church is filled with many other leaders who run Community Groups, Youth Group, Activities and Ministries.
Community Groups at EGCC
read moreChurch is more than a meeting. More than a song time. More than a message. Church is a group of believers brought together with a common desire - to know God personally and to become more like him. The best way we can grow in God is with others. When we walk with others there are people to pick us up when we are down, we can lift up when we are encouraged. In our Community Groups we meet together over zoom. Our goal is to enjoy learning to follow Christ, worship and praying together and enjoying the walk together through life.
