However if they can't find it, they don't need to order a replacement before coming to test. Your pupils will still need to have a valid theory test certificate before booking and taking their test. If they don't have a valid theory test pass, they should not attempt to take their test. The driving test pass will not be valid and they will not be given a full licence. You can obtain a driving test application form (DL26) from your driving instructor, any driving or theory test centre or by telephoning the driving test enquiry line on 0870 0101 372, between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday.

read moreThe theory test consists of two parts namely, a 50-question multiple choice section and a Hazard Perception test. In order to pass the multiple choice section you must answer 43 or more questions correctly within 57 minutes. Questions are chosen at random and cover a range of subjects i.e. traffic signs and regulations, car safety and the effect of alcohol and drug consumption whilst driving. Questions are answered by using a touch screen computer and mouse. You may skip questions and return to them later during the test.
