The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability. In accordance with our Local Medical Committee Guidelines, we do not provide hepatitis B injections for occupational health reasons (i.e., University courses, employment etc.). These are available at immunisation clinics outwith the surgery, details of which can be given on request at reception.

read moreThe Practice opened in Clarkston in 1904, but originated as an East Kilbride practice, whose early partners saw a need for medical services to be provided in Clarkston. Thus, Carolside Medical Centre is among the original practices serving the Clarkston area. When Dr James Cowan retired in 1984, the two remaining doctors, Dr Beth Arklie and Dr Ronald Graham, were joined by Dr John Ross. At this point the building underwent its first major renovation. In 1986 when Dr Crichton from Giffnock died, his patients were allocated to this practice.

Take this to the Registrars Office, (together with the deceased's Medical Card and Birth Certificate, if available) for the area in which the death took place. Alternatively you can register by declaration at any convenient Registrars Office but certificates will not be available as these will have to be posted to you a few days later. The Registrar will normally issue a Green coloured certificate for you to give to your funeral director who will look after necessary arrangements for the funeral.

To help us with this, we are setting up a virtual patient representation group so that you can have your say. We will ask the members of this representative group some questions from time to time, such as what you think about our opening times or the quality of the care or service you received. We will contact you via email and keep our surveys succinct so it shouldn't take too much of your time.
