What is Ketosis
read moreNot just a recent craze, the ketogenic diet was developed about 100 years ago as a treatment for epilepsy, and bodybuilders were using it to lose fat back in the 1950s! Some people glorify it, and others call it a dangerous fad. So, what's the truth? A 'keto' diet - sometimes called a "Very-Low-Carbohydrate Diet", a "Ketogenic Diet" or "Atkins" - is a diet that causes your body to produce a certain level of ketones through dramatically reducing your carb intake and once you reach this level, you are in "ketosis".

Easy BMI Calculator
read moreGood guesses, but BMI actually stands for Body Mass Index, and it's a really important measure for anyone trying to lose weight. Calculating your BMI using our simple BMI calculator will show you where you are now, and where would be best for you. The results are given as a range because there's no one ideal weight for people of different heights and builds. Your BMI is also influenced by your age and whether you're male or female. Some people can also be considered 'Overweight' (25-30 BMI), yet have reasonably (or very) low body fat and just be quite muscular.
