Chris Raison went to Chesterfield Grammar school for O levels and A levels. He began work at Grantham for Dolland and Aitcheson as a trainee with block release to Bradford University. After qualifying in 1981 from Bradford College, Chris worked in Southampton for a private practice. After this, he worked for a period in Birmingham and Wakefield for a chain before opening his own practice in Barnsley in 1993. A very keen sportsman, Chris enjoys swimming, rugby, athletics and squash although he can't do much of it now as everything hurts too much! Just watching is enough.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional, without being pushy. They took the time to assist me in trying on frames and provided guidance on which ones suited me best. They were also well-equipped for Covid.

I have been visiting this optician since I got my first pair of glasses years ago. I have never encountered an optician as good as Waqas. He made me feel calm and treated me like an individual, rather than just a patient.
He assisted me with my driving lessons and quickly provided me with new glasses when I needed reading glasses. I could not have received better service from anyone.
