I attended three sessions with Mark before moving away from Brighton and I really valued his calm, professional manner and holistic approach. The 90 minute session was an ideal length, allowing time to approach separate issues. Mark gave me a small, realistic number of targeted exercises to carry out at home, which was perfect as it wasn't too overwhelming to complete them. He also sent some really useful techniques and videos after each session; I have definitely seen a difference already and am very grateful for your help, thank you Mark!

It's several years since I came to you for help with my knee and shoulder. At the time I hadn't run for six months and thought I wouldn't ever run again.
Now years later, and older, I am better than ever. I want to thank Mark for sharing more than exercises, it was an approach to living with my body.
While exercising yesterday it struck me how you had impacted my life and hence am writing today.

Mark provides a holistic approach to get your body working right rather than a quick fix that temporarily resolves the issue. Having gone from sports injury to sports injury it was great to be able to perform in high level sport without persistent problems following a course of appointments with Mark.

I've been working with Mark at Brighton Physiotherapy for over a year now - his support and services have been invaluable! As well as helping me to address my frequent minor injuries that pop up at the root causes, I've also been able to gain both a better understanding of the interconnectivity of my physical wellbeing, but also generally improve my confidence in my physical self. As a result I've had the platform to take clear steps in my self improvement on a day to day basis but also in achieving my athletic goals: in the last year, I've completed my first half marathon, ridden London to Brighton, and am due to take on further challenges soon - working with Mark has been massively key to being able to accomplish all of this!

I've been working with Mark for a couple of years now. He's helped me move past stuck injuries and has helped me have a better understanding of my body's patterns of movement and how I'm holding my stress and tension so avoid new injuries, but also to have a better understanding of myself.

Mark takes a deeply holistic approach with clients which ensures that hes looking at the impact of an injury on the whole body and the impact of an entire life and lifestyle on recovery.
He makes recommendations and plans that tackle not just the injury but other lifestyle factors that could aid or hinder recovery - ensuring treatment is highly effective.
Having arrived after several accidents with multiple broken bones and soft tissue injuries, Marks personal and professional approach quickly instilled the trust and confidence in him required for me to receive the treatment I needed.

Mark's approach is more holistic and fundamental than other physios I have used in the past. I was struggling with sciatica and feeling very low when I first saw him last year but with a big reset, patience, focussing more on breathing, and doing his exercises (when I remembered) I made a full recovery and was even able to medal in a world triathlon championship event.

After a half knee replacement my recovery was slow, in fact very poor.I also had an achilles strain. After my 1st session with Mark I knew he would help me recover because he listened & did not treat me like a conveyor belt which had happened before. After 10 sessions I am well on the road to being able to walk normally & most importantly pain free. I cannot thank Mark enough, his care & expertise are 1st class.

Mark has been helping me with my rehabilitation from a knee injury sustained while running for a few months now. Over a number of sessions he's given me hands on therapy, advice and exercises which have taken a holistic approach to the original problem and my strength and flexibility have improved to the point where I'm moving freely without pain or stiffness.
If I need any further help with recovering from injury I wouldn't hesitate to work with him again.

Hands down THE BEST physiotherapy in Brighton!!
I've struggled with an arm pain for 3 years of my life, saw many many other physios over the years, accepted that pain would be now a part of my life... but then I went HERE!!
Mark was the only physio I ever had that actually took my issue seriously and dug deep down to find out what was going on with curiosity and care, instead of serving me superficial and temporary solutions then brushing me off like the many other physios I went to before.
For the first time in my long journey to recovery I was given resources to help myself to take home with me! Not just exercises but resources that allowed me to understand my body and mind better, what pain is and how it manifests and many many others.
I think that's the biggest difference that put Mark above others: he took care of the whole dang shebang, body AND mind!
I AM PAIN FREE AS I WRITE THIS!! And all that I learned by coming here on how to manage pain and stress and how to treat my body right and how to strengthen it helps me in other areas of my life constantly! I genuinely feel like all this will keep helping me for years to come!
If you've struggled with pain for a long time do NOT lose hope and give this place a chance!!!

I went to see Jamie 3 days before I was due to run my first marathon, I had developed a hip pain which had completely stopped my training plan in its tracks and I was losing hope of even being able to get to the start line. But my session with Jamie was invaluable, he really took the time to listen and we found some exercises that helped as well as working on my frame of mind going into it. I really enjoyed the holistic approach. I didn't just cross the start line in the end, I finished too! I don't think I would have got there without my visit to Jamie at Brighton Physiotherapy & Sports Therapy and couldn't recommend them enough.

Excellent therapy sessions, can wholly recommend if you have any problems running or walking! Mark took a holistic approach to my running and walking technique, which he observed and improved with suggestions. He identified my muscle weaknesses and gave me targeted exercises to address these. He gave me a lot of advice on running relaxed and how to recover better and faster from running sessions. I am now able to run without any discomfort. He has provided me with a lot of good advice and links to yoga and relaxation classes. Thank you

Over a year having pain in my right hip, knee, back and ankle, even having treatments all the time, it wasnt improving.
Friends highly recommended Jamie and they were so sure that he would be able to help me. They were right!
Ive been seeing him regular for the last 6 month and the result is amazing. I feel so much better now, physically, and mentally.
I definitely recommended Jamie! He is a fantastic physio with an incredible knowledge; really positive and supportive.

I came to Jamie after over a year of a hip injury that had led to pain across my body. As a sporty person, I was pretty desperate and felt like I had tried everything but absolutely nothing was working. Id seen multiple other Physios but nobody had been able to get my back to sport. Jamie came recommended from a friend and was really helpful even before my first session. After a couple of sessions my pain had reduced enough for me to be able to get back to some sports, and now months later Im back running, climbing, cycling and more, and I am no longer plagued by my injury and pain. I didnt really think this would be possible but Ive been incredibly impressed.
Working with Jamie has enabled me to understand my body in a new way - spotting things that led to the injury in the first place, rather than just focusing on fixing it. Also understanding how to process and sit with pain. All of this learning has been crucial as Jamie has supported me to get back into running safely - something I didnt think Id be able to do. I cant recommend Jamie enough, especially for people who feel theyve tried everything else! The more you put in, the more you will get from working with Jamie.

Having hurt my knee some years ago, it was always a constant but small enough pain for me to pass up getting any treatment on however the pain started to get worse recently which led me to Jamie through another client of his' recommendation, all I can say is I wish I had been to see him earlier.
We worked through a course of appointments and each session i felt not only improvement straight after the session, but a continued strengthening of my knee and body/posture as a whole.
Jamie is a lovely chap, makes you feel very comfortable during the session, and has a vast knowledge that he explains in a very accessible way giving really helpful exercises to perform at home between sessions.
I have just returned from a Climbing and Hiking holiday where often I would experience pain in my knee when doing similar activities, however this time I can happily say my knee was not even a concern which is a huge relief and testament to the work Jamie put in. Thanks so much!

I originally started seeing Jamie for a sprained ankle and a couple of other minor sports injuries, that I hadn't been able to tackle for years, going to multiple doctors and physiotherapists. Jamie helped me understand how trauma and stress of the mind can negatively affect your body physically. After one session with him I felt instantly better, and after seeing him regularly for a few months my body has never felt so good and so strong. Jamie's approach is different but incredibly affective. Not only has he 'fixed' all my aches and pains but has aided in making me the happiest I have been in years. I cannot recommend him enough, he will change your life!
