However, having had lessons with Tony Ryan at Brake-thru, I have been able to overcome the jitters and learn to drive at a very high standard. As a result of Tony's awesome teaching, I was able to pass my test first time which has done wonders for my confidence. Passed yesterday first time in Portsmouth with Garry. Brilliant instructor, extremely knowledgeable and is really helpful at calming nerves.

Ive just passed my driving test first time this afternoon in Portsmouth, all thanks to Garry. Ive been learning with him since July and not only is he a great person to get to know but he is a very patient and knowledgeable driving instructor. I cant praise Garry enough for how he taught me to drive safely. I would highly, highly recommend him and this driving school to any new learners.

I had lessons with Nick Bassett for 7 months after moving to Portsmouth for work and he was an excellent instructor throughout. He was patient, encouraging, and explained things clearly, which really helped me build confidence behind the wheel. Nick created a calm learning environment that made every lesson productive and enjoyable.
Unfortunately, due to scheduling circumstances beyond his control, Nick wasnt able to be there for my rescheduled driving test (which I passed first time!) but that wasnt his fault at all, and I truly appreciate everything he did to help me prepare. He gave me a strong foundation and set me up for success, and I would highly recommend him to anyone starting out on their driving journey.

I have previously failed my driving test 5 times, and it had been over 4 years since my last attempt. I started using Garry a few months ago and he completely turned things around. He does not let you forget a mistake, which is highly important for positive habit building. Both me and my partner passed this week because of his excellent teaching. Very grateful and he is highly recommended.

Gary from brake thru has taught two of my children to drive now and they both passed first time. Absolutely first class driving school professional, friendly , punctual and value for money ! As soon as my other son is old enough I will be contacting brake thru again to teach him. Can not recommend enough , fantastic !!

My partner and I both were lucky enough to have Gary as our amazing driving instructor. Despite us both being quite nervous drivers, Gary was a brilliant instructor whose in-depth knowledge of driving and the Highway Code really helped us to feel more confident. We had both failed previous tests with different driving schools, but passed first time since being taught by Gary!
