The Lamproom Theatre Company is located in Barnsley and performs at the rapidly developing Lamproom Theatre on Westgate. Born out of a derelict Methodist Chapel, the venue is Barnsley's only theatre and has been developed by a hard working group of volunteers. Regular visitors are amazed at the changes, which are always made to make theatre-going in Barnsley a pleasure. Apart from the Lamproom Theatre Company (LTC) there are thriving youth theatre groups, one for under 11 (The Lamplyters) and one for over 11 (LYTEs)

read more2016 saw a first for The Lamproom Musical Theatre Company, the first group to perform the fabulous 'Sister Act' in Barnsley. Speaking of 'fabulous', Janine Dyer was exactly that, in the iconic lead role of Deloris - what a voice. She was supported by an excellent cast, who had a ball bringing this fantastic show to The Lamproom stage - pictured are various nuns, along with reporter Paul Pearson. Happy times - we are sure many more will be on the horizon in the near future - watch this space! We could all benefit from something to make us smile, or even belly-laugh at the moment - and we found just the tonic with this photograph from The Lamproom Musical Theatre's production of '9 to 5' in 2016 - just what are they laughing at?
