Heaton Moor Medical Centre is a mixture of two practices with a combined patient list of over 17, 000 patients. Our GPs and huge support teams provide a varied array of solutions to our patients. The surgery opened in 1971 taking in just six doctors originally. The practice was completely renovated and extended in 1994 and extended again in 2002. We're an innovative practice and are always searching for ways to improve our services for patients, through participation in pilots for new ways of delivering care, as well as adapting to feedback and suggestions from patients.

read moreIf you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required. It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 12 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine.

read moreInformation about you and the care you receive is shared, in a secure system, by healthcare staff to support your treatment and care. It is important that we, the NHS, can use this information to plan and improve services for all patients. We would like to link information from all the different places where you receive care, such as your GP, hospital and community service, to help us provide a full picture. This will allow us to compare the care you received in one area against the care you received in another, so we can see what has worked best.
