read moreI met this guy five days before my test and he was the difference between me passing and me failing. If the cost you're quoted is 'per lesson' then check to see what this actually means. At Atlas we recommend two hour lessons, but the minimum amount of time we'd call a lesson is one hour. Plus, make sure that your lesson time starts and ends when you get in or out of the driver's seat - and not when you get in a car driven by your instructor or another pupil. Anyone charging money for driving tuition has to be an ADI (Approved Driving Instructor).

read moreThe test takes an hour: 3 minutes preparation, then 57 minutes to answer 50 multiple choice questions (there are over a thousand possible, and yours will be chosen at random by the computer). To answer you touch the screen to make a choice, and you must answer at least 43/50 correctly to pass. You can skip any question and return to it before your time is up. This follows straight on from the theory test, and takes the form of fourteen 60-second video clips that simulate day-to-day driving seen from the driver's seat of a car.

read moreLooking for an instructor? You won't go wrong with Peter. He is passionate about teaching others to drive well and safely, dedicated to his pupils, and arrives promptly for your lessons. He is an excellent communicator (patient but firm), very knowledgeable and has a great teaching style and ethics. Most of all, he's a lot of fun! I've passed my test with one minor fault. You can check online now to see if we can take you on as a pupil and what it will cost - all we need is your postcode. The cheapest driving instructors aren't always the most cost-effective in the long run.

I started learning with another instructor but I felt I couldn't learn from them. I switched to Peter after my boyfriend recommended him. Best instructor ever! He is very adaptable. I am quite a perfectionist. Peter recognised this, so he made sure I had every manouevre practiced to the letter and pushed me to the best of my abilities. Although frustrating at times, this really paid off in the end.
