We run 15 minute consultations (rather than the standard 10 minute appointments you'll find at many other vets) because we don't believe a quality level of service can be provided in 10 minutes. The extra time allows us to be more thorough when examining your pets, and means that our appointments are more likely to run on time.

Because great service really matters to us, we have volunteered to be inspected by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and are an RCVS Accredited Small Animal Practice. We strongly advocate vaccinating your pets annually to offer protection against several potentially fatal and often easily contractable diseases. A recent nationwide survey of vets through CICADA (Computer-based Investigation into Companion Animal Disease Awareness) supports fears that falls in vaccination rates since the start of the credit crunch may be leading to increases in potentially fatal pet diseases across the West Midlands and Britain in general.

The disease damages blood vessels of the skin and kidneys, and is first evident through inexplicable redness, sores or open lesions appearing most commonly on paws or legs. However, lesions may also appear on the face, mouth, tongue and lower body. Kidney failure may follow.

Our laboratory includes both a bio-chemistry analyser for testing blood chemical levels (e.g. to check kidney and liver health) and a haematology analyser for testing blood cell counts to check for conditions such as anaemia and any increase or decrease in inflammatory cells which can signify underlying health issues. Being able to run blood tests in house when necessary and in critical cases means that we can make faster decisions to best support your pets.
