Artisan Butcher & Deli in Manchester
Established with inspiration from a traditional Roman butcher shop, Butcher's Quarter brings artisanal expertise to Manchester's Northern Quarter. Our commitment to quality begins with sourcing from local UK farms within a 25-mile radius, prioritising sustainable practices and animal welfare. Every cut of beef, lamb, pork, and poultry is carefully selected and often dry-aged on-site to enhance natural flavours. The deli complements our meat offerings with curated cheeses, charcuterie, preserves, and wines from trusted partners like Boutinot. We foster a community-driven space where customers can enjoy tastings, seasonal events, and educational experiences about nutrition and sustainable farming. Our collaboration with nutritional therapist Aurea Fellows underscores our dedication to promoting the health benefits of responsibly sourced meat. Through regular recipe updates and hands-on workshops, we aim to inspire both novice and experienced cooks. With transparent supply chains and a focus on supporting British agriculture, we ensure every purchase contributes to local farming communities. A true Gem. More an experience than a Butchers. More a treat than it is shopping. Apart for a huge array of incredible meat in the Butcher' s counter, there are interesting cheeses, brilliant charcuterie (p.s. Wild boar prosciutto is to die for), natural wines and other top notch bits like unusual pasta, fresh bread and condiments. There is even a chance to sample a glass of wine , nibble on some food in the shop while waiting or lingering over the library of gastronomic books. .
All topped off with fantastic staff (Graeme, Liam and Will) , who couldn't be more friendly or knowledgeable. This is absolutely what an independent, passionate business should be. So lucky to have it nearby.

A great big shout out for the lovely guys at The Butcher's Quarter who went out of their way home on Saturday evening to retrieve my cheese which hadn't been placed in my bag in the shop. Thanks a million. Also the lamb I bought was delicious. Outstanding service and good quality items. I will be back.

Purchased our first rib of beef on the bone from here. As I was unsure how best to cook, the butcher gave me great advice which was spot on! The best beef I have ever tasted. This was all washed down with a bottle of red, again recommended by the staff here. I cannot praise the staff here enough. Customer service is second to none. So nice to have people genuinely interested in you and making sure you get the best out of your purchases. Have been a regular since and will continue to be.

Been in quite a few times now and every time the lads are happy to answer and questions I have about their produce. Also very good at recommending alternative cuts when I had trouble getting hold of some lamb shanks, as well as the best cuts for certain recipes. Will definitely be back to try more things in the future!

Today I picked up my Christmas order at the Butchers Quarter for the 3rd year running and wow it looks amazing ( can't wait to taste it ) this year I have gone for a Rooster and a Topside of beef as my kids did not want Turkey (spoil sports ) as the last two years has been beautiful. I also grabbed some pigs in blankets, as always, so tasty. Their meat is locally sourced and all farm reared and you can tell the difference from your supermarkets, I actually cook chicken from this place and I'm sure it grows and not srinks.
And not to forget the staff are amazing, so knowledgeable about what they are selling you can ask them cooking times, best way to cook and even some recipes. Welcome back the independent butcher and hope more follow in every town so you can enjoy like Manchester.
