George Hill Timber

Founded in 1919, George Hill Timber has been a family-run business for over a century, serving the North West of England. Our legacy began with George Hill Timber, a Saddleworth farmer inspired by the American timber industry, who established the company in Oldham. Over four generations, we have expanded our operations to include branches in Sale, Bolton, and Nelson, maintaining a steadfast commitment to quality and customer service. Our product range has evolved from timber to encompass a comprehensive selection of building materials, including aggregates, insulation, roofing supplies, and landscaping products. We pride ourselves on stocking FSC-certified timber and ensuring all listed items are in stock to avoid customer delays.

Our team, trained through generations, offers expert advice and support tailored to both trade and DIY customers. Free local delivery on orders over 100 plus VAT and convenient click-and-collect options enhance our accessibility. With a heritage rooted in family values and a focus on innovation, we continue to uphold the ethos established by our founder: prioritising service and satisfaction. Our premises in Scottfield Road, Oldham, serve as a hub for quality timber and building supplies, supported by dedicated branches across the region. As we look to the future, the fourth generation of the Hill family remains committed to delivering excellence, ensuring George Hill Timber remains a trusted partner for construction needs.
