In 2006, The Arctic Monkeys won the Mercury Music Prize: they rehearse at Yellow Arch. But everyone had expected Cole's Corner, by Richard Hawley, to win: that was recorded at Yellow Arch. In 2009, Tony Christie made a comeback with the most-played single on Radio 2 and a Glastonbury appearance: he recorded and rehearsed at Yellow Arch. at Glastonbury, promoting his new album, was Jarvis Cocker: he uses Yellow Arch. 5 years ago, Reverend and the Makers were an unknown band called Judan Suki: they recorded at Yellow Arch. So did Little Man Tate. And The Klaxons. And The Maccabees. And The Wedding Present. And Goldfrapp.

read moreAt the centre of our studio is a 39 channel Amek Angela mixing desk, monitored through dual Focal Twin6 and subwoofer, and a powerful Quadcore Mac Pro. We have a range of outboard preamps, equalisers and compressors including Universal Audio, TLA and Thermionic Culture units. Our microphone selection is always growing, and we now have a host of microphones from Neumann, AKG and Royer, to name a few. Over the years we've collected some amazing instruments including incredible keyboard instruments, vintage drum kits and a great collection of guitar and bass amps.

read moreOur main studio consists of a large day-lit Live Room with a high pitched ceiling, a very spacious day-lit control room with lounge area, vocal booth and two isolation rooms. We have residential facilities which can accommodate up to eight band members including private kitchen, shower and toilet facilities - Free off street parking, fully licensed bar and cafe. Our recording studio has been at the heart of the Sheffield music scene for over twenty years, and has since gained national recognition for producing an excellent, modern sound, while retaining an atmosphere that musicians feel comfortable in.
