William Purves established his business in Marchmont, Edinburgh in 1888. The principles on which he established his business have not changed. He was familiar with the pain and grief of bereavement, the sense of bewilderment and loss. He knew that time will tend such wounds; and that great sympathy, sound advice and practical aid may aid start the healing process. Today his company, now in it's 5th generation, is one of the few privately run and owned family funeral directors remaining in Edinburgh. William Purves Ltd is a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD)
