Funeral Services in Edinburgh, Scotland Edinburgh Crematorium Ltd was established in 1928 by the Edinburgh Cremation Society, in order to supply the citizens of Edinburgh with cremation facilities. The following year Warriston Crematorium carried out its 1st cremation. From the beginning Warriston has been the pre-eminent crematorium in Scotland. Its 1st cremation, carried out on October 29th 1929, was of the late Allan Henderson who had been His Majesty's Consul in Malaga at the time of his death.

The two-storey villa, which was built in 1808 had a number of internal structural changes to adapt it to the needs of a crematorium. Work was completed in 1929 with first cremation taking place on October 29th 1929. The larger of the two Service rooms is named after Sir Robert Lorimer acknowledging his input and work. Since 1929 we have carried out the services and cremations for many distinguished people as well a many other Edinburgh people.
