The Medieval Hall
Venue in Salisbury, Wiltshire
This Great Hall was founded in the mid 13th century - at the same time as Salisbury Cathedral - and, in the Middle Ages, was the setting for great 'feasts' or 'banquets' It is situated within the glorious ambience of Salisbury Cathedral Close and only 200 metres from the Cathedral itself. The Hall is elegantly proportioned with a fine timber framed roof, the original central hearth, high windows and many other original features. A minstrels' gallery, excellent acoustics and an intimate atmosphere make it a sought after venue for a huge range of public and private events.

read moreIn June 2021, Jane and I will have been responsible for The Medieval Hall for 38 years. It has been largely down to me to meet the day-to-day demands of the task and I'm still loving the job (apart from cleaning the loos!) But, perhaps it is now time to move on. The place has been on the market as a going concern for a while but with no success. Change of use to residential is a real possibility. However, we have always been conscious that it would be a great shame if such an iconic venue were to be lost to the city.
