High School in Sheffield, South Yorkshire Stocksbridge High school is an over subscribed 11-16 School located twelve miles N of Sheffield. We earned Specialist School status in 2003 as a Maths and Computing College and our new ICT block has offered a state of the art resource for our students and the local community. Our ethos is about caring for everyone and understanding what we can provide and learn from others. We currently have high expectations of everyone connected to our school. Students are expected to work hard and aim high.

Buses
read moreStudents from the Ecclesfield, Chapeltown and High Green areas have access to the 777 school bus service which are provided by Stagecoach and Heatons. The bus service provided by Stagecoach will cover the morning journey and return journey from school at 3pm. The bus service operated by Heatons Coaches is a follow up bus service for the morning journey to school and for the return journey from school at 3pm. Later in the Autumn term 2020, the Heatons service will transfer to the later time of leaving school at 4.10 pm for students staying in school until 4.00 pm.
Uniform & Equipment
read moreIt is an expectation that all students must be in full school uniform, enabling them to be prepared for learning every day. Our belief is that the school uniform enables all students to enter lessons in a focused and organised way. By ensuring these rules are followed, school is putting all students in the right frame of mind for learning. Wearing trainers for medical reasons will only be authorised by the pastoral team and must be accompanied by medical evidence. Jewellery must be discreet and pupils will be asked to remove it for PE and aspects of Design and Technology for safety reasons.
Curriculum Policy and Overview
read moreThe curriculum is separated into Key Stage 3 in years 7, 8 and 9, and KS4 in Y10 and Y11. All students will take the core subjects of English. Mathematics and science from Y7 through to Y11 so we consider these to to 5-year programmes of study that covers all expectations of the National Curriculum and GCSE specifications. Key Stage 3 is designed to give a broad experience of subjects and build strong foundations for further study into KS4. In addition to the core subjects this includes: history, geography, modern foreign languages (French and Spanish), design and technology (including Food), music, PE, art, drama and computer science.

Our core aim is to provide the best educational opportunities so that our students grow and develop to be ambitious, prepared and qualified for their next steps in life. We aim to instil our core values of being positive, caring, courageous and reflective in students. This is achieved through providing an ambitious curriculum, high quality teaching, and pastoral support for young people at every stage in their journey through Stocksbridge High School.
