Churches in Bradford, West Yorkshire
Churches in Bradford, West Yorkshire Jesus said: Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you will recover your life. I will show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or sick-fitting on you. Keep firm with me and you will learn to live freely and lightly. Matthew 11. 28-30, The Message)Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The one thing it cannot be is moderately important.

St James C Of E Church
read moreBolton, St James PCC have choosen to suspend Sunday public worship for the time-being due to the current national lockdown. We realise that public worship is exempt from the directive to 'stay at home' but feel given the current high infection and transmission rates of the virus it is safer to close. We will continue to have a weekly act of worship on our website (plus other regular online worship activities), and seek to support the congregation and parish in whatever way we can.'
Community
read moreBolton is just a couple of miles outside the centre of Bradford. It is a village without a 'village street'. Until well into the twentieth century it was little more than a collection of scattered farms, hamlets and small terraces. Between the two World Wars substantial numbers of houses were built and the shape and style of today's Bolton was set. The main thoroughfare is Bolton Road and the most prominent building on that road and in the whole of Bolton is St James's Church. As our strap line says, we love God, but we also love our community and aim to be a prominent and positve part of it.
Midweek
read moreEvery Wednesday afternoon between 3pm and 4.30pm the church offers FREE tea/coffee and cake to anyone in the community. You don't have to be a church member to attend, everyone is welcome. We meet in the lounge and there's often a quiz and/or an optional craft activity, or if you just want to pop in for a quick cuppa, that's fine too. We share a story from the bible and sing praises together, before moving through for play time and, or course, toast! We have a number of Home Groups at St James'.
Sundays
read moreJoin us each Sunday for our morning service at 10:30am. A great place to connect with God and each other. Families are always welcome and groups for children take place during most morning services. There is a creche area within church catering for pre school children. Once a month we have a communion service at 9am followed by All Age worship at 10:30am. Then there are our 2 monthly evening services, each with a different feel to a Sunday morning; 'Making Space for God' and 'Breathe'.
