Wigan LA and the School Governing Body are dedicated to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of kids. In the interest of safeguarding pupils, on arrival, we would ask all parents, guardians and visitors to the school to present themselves at the main office at the front of the school. All visitors must sign in and be given a visitor badge. Where appropriate visitors will be asked to show proof of their CRB clearance.

History
read moreWhere possible, we use a wide variety of teaching and learning methods to deliver History at Shevington, from teacher-led discussion to Drama lessons or project work. History lessons are engaging, arouse curiosity and provide challenge and intellectual stimulation for all students. Formal assessments take place throughout the year with at least one formal History exam per year group each academic year. History is a very popular subject at KS4, with three classes in Year 11 (2020-2021) and four classes in Year 10 (2020-2021).
