RPC began life as a house fellowship in Richmond Park Avenue (hence the name) in 1981. This was in the days of charismatic renewal in this country when many house fellowships sprung up, God started drawing people into the fellowship and baptising them in his Holy Spirit. From the early days the church was called to be a church in the community reaching people with the gospel and bringing the kingdom of God into the area through lives submitted to the Lordship of Christ. Liberty in worship and allowing the Holy Spirit to do his work were the God given emphasis from the begining.

To help us in this we have a team of people who serve the church by operating and managing our sound and video projection systems. We very much appreciate all they do behind the scenes.
Mission
read moreAt RPC we take this great commission very seriously and seek to spread this good news about salvation in Christ, not only in our own local community, but further afield in the UK and overseas. We set aside 10% of our offerings for this wider work of mission.
Mission Team
read moreAs we mentioned under 'Missions: Home and Abroad' we take the passage above very seriously and in order to help us do that as a church we have the mission team. They have a special heart and passion for mission and take special prayer meetings, organise special speakers and help the church leaders nominate the funds set apart for mission work. They do a great job!
What we believe
read moreHere at RPC we consider the Bible to be at the core of our faith. It is by the truths contained within that we have confidence to believe in God and trust in his means of salvation. It is our way of understanding who God is and what his plan for our lives are and the ultimate destiny of the human race. Below you will read a summary of what we consider to be the key beliefs of the Christian faith that are expressed in the Bible. We believe in. 1. The one true God who lives eternally in three persons-the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Worship Team
read moreWorship has always been a central part of the life and work at RPC. It is an integral part of all our services and meetings; not least of all our Sunday morning service. To enhance those times together we have a team of committed musicians and singers who are gifted in this area and find it a blessing to serve the Lord and the church in this way.
Prayer Team
read moreWe have set up a team of people who have a heart for prayer and people. They are available to pray after our Sunday morning service. People may be wanting prayer in response to something the Lord revealed to them during the service or for some other personal need. This is done quietly and discretely and has proved to be a help and encouragement to many people.
Kidz Church
read moreThe children join us for our family worship time during our morning service before going into their respective groups. In little fish the children have a great time. They get to sing and dance to some lively children's songs, enjoy exciting and colourful Bible stories, get creative with various crafts and pray together. There is also a snack which is always popular. Parents are welcome to stay with their children until they feel comfortable to leave them by themselves. In "Jesus and Me" the group leaders seek to bring the Bible alive to the children.
Prayer
read morePrayer is considered a priority at RPC. As well as incorporating it into our main worship service and establishing it as a foundational element to our home groups we have number of ministries committed to it. These meetings are very varied yet characterised by a tremendous sense of unity and blessing. We encourage different people to take part and a service will often include a particulalr focus, whether that is a ministry within the church, missionaries out on the field, testimony or some current event.
