Parbold Surgery
read moreDuring the pandemic period we are trying to reduce footfall into the surgery as much as possible in order to minimise spread of the virus. Please remember to use the provided hand sanitizer or to wash your hands when entering the building. In line with the above efforts to reduce footfall, we ask for all repeat prescription requests to be made over the phone via the dedicated prescription line or to be requested online. We also ask that patients nominate a pharmacy for their prescription to be sent to electronically so medications can be collected directly from the pharmacy.
About Us
read moreThe more you know about your pregnancy and your options, the more you are likely to feel in control. The information given here is based on The Pregnancy Book, which your midwife should give you at your first appointment. Here's a checklist of the vaccines that are routinely offered to everyone in the UK for free on the NHS, and the age at which you should ideally have them. Having an ill child can be a very scary experience for parents. If you understand more about the illness it can help you to feel more in control.

Patients are free to consult any doctor in the practice. Please help us to cut waiting times in the surgery. Routine appointments are 15 minutes long and an on the day urgent appointment is 10 minutes. Appointments are available each day but requests should be made as early as possible. It may not be possible to see a doctor of your choice for emergency appointments which are available everyday either after morning surgery or evening surgery.

Once you discover you are pregnant you should book in to see a GP who will arrange subsequent antenatal appointments and check which hospital team you want your antenatal care from. If you are interested in attending either of the courses then please speak to your midwife. Both courses are one day per week. Child development checks are mostly done by the Health Visitor, you will receive an appointment direct from them. Baby's 6 week checks are done by GPs here in the surgery.
Parbold Surgery
read moreOn registering, the receptionist will ask you to make a new patient check appointment with the Health Care Assistant. This is purely voluntary and we would recommed that you do this as your records may not be received by the surgery before your first visit to the doctor, therefore the doctor will have no previous history of you. We have a disabled parking space at the front of the building. If you are over 75 and have not been seen in the last year, or between 16 and 75 and have not been seen in the last 3 years, you may request a consultation with our Health Care Assistant.

read moreIt's Your Practice: A patient guide to GP services has been put together by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) for patients. This guide has been produced as part of the RCGP's aim to build stronger relationships between you and your doctors and encourage the involvement and inclusion of you in your own care. The guide provides helpful information on all aspects of using GP services: from finding and choosing a practice and how to get the most out of a GP consultation to accessing health records and understanding patients' rights and responsibilities.
Patient Participation Group
read moreThe aim of the Parbold group is to initiate surveys to be completed by the practice population enabling the practice to achieve the best results from the services they provide for the practice population. If anyone would like to join the group please let me know. The 8th practice survey is now in the process of being set up. We are asking our experienced participation group if they are willing to help the practice again this year. Once this has been established then the work begins on what questions we can put to the practice population.
