Kingshurst Evangelical Church
Churches in Birmingham, West Midlands
Kingshurst Evangelical Church began in 1961, when a group of Christians began to suit in homes on the Kingshurst estate. As the Lord blessed the work, many people were added to the fellowship, which now met in a local school and community hall, and gradually a general pattern of the work at Kingshurst took shape. In 1965, sensing the challenge of proposals for a huge, new housing estate, Chelmsley Wood, members applied for a site on which to develop a place of worship at a focal point within the community. In answer to much prayer the Lord in a truly miraculous way enabled the purchase of our present site.
