Welcome to Churchcentral. We're a dynamic Christian church drawn from a huge array of social and ethnic backgrounds right across Birmingham. Churchcentral is more than a building, an organisation or a Sunday meeting. We're a community of diverse individuals united by a common relationship with Jesus Christ. We make it our strive to worship him with every area of our lives and share a passion for communicating the nice news about him with those who don't yet know him. We began life as a tiny group of young people looking to make a difference where we live. Today the church is a vibrant community of people of different ages and backgrounds from right across Birmingham.

read moreWe're a church family, following Jesus in the south of Birmingham. Right now we're meeting online in lots of ways and if you're new to Birmingham, new to church or new to us, we'd love to connect you in! Watch our hour-long online service, full of features to help you connect with God & your church family. The service appears automatically above at 10.30am, or watch on our YouTube channel or Facebook page (and catch up on any previous services there too). Even though right now we can't meet physically, we are passionate about church being more than something we 'watch'.
Our Team
read moreJonathan and his wife Helen planted the church in 1996. Jonathan leads the team at Churchcentral South, as well as carrying the primary responsibility for preaching across Churchcentral. Helen works as the elderly support worker with Karis Neighbour Scheme. Together, they have two grown up sons. Jonny co-founded Sputnik, our growing arts collective and network. He's part of the preaching team across the churches and is on the team at Churchcentral South. He is married to Jemma and they have three kids.

As Christians, we believe that one of the incredible results of what happened on the cross is that when we accept Jesus into our lives, we have the privilege of becoming part of God's family - He adopts us as his beloved children. Whether you're just wanting to find out more about what adoption means or you're looking into it yourself or you've already started the process, we hope that something here will be helpful to you on your journey.

read moreJesus loves our children, and we want to help our children love Jesus. With all the challenges right now in parenting, there is also an unrivaled opportunity of much more time with our kids. These resources don't come with any pressure at all, but are with a spirit of wanting to equip you to do whatever you can in this time to help fuel the faith of our kids. There are a few websites that have a range of helpful resources to help children connect with Jesus. The Rend Collective website has songs, stories, devotionals and an online store.
The Story Of Churchcentral
read moreThe Churchcentral story started in 1996 when Jonathan and Helen Bell moved to Birmingham with a desire to begin a church and see what God might do through them. With big promises from God, a small team began to gather in their living room. A first Alpha course was run and then the first people became Christians through the church. The journey was off and running. Over the years that followed, the church officially launched as West Birmingham Family Church, before in 2006 we changed our name to Churchcentral.
Give
read moreChristians don't give to get blessed by God. Christians give because we have already been blessed by God. Our giving is part of our thankful response to the goodness of Jesus. It's not to be done under compulsion, but with a gladness of heart. It's also so wonderful to see what God does with the money we give. There's no greater joy than giving and seeing people find hope, freedom and joy as a result. Without imposing a specific percentage we want to invite you to join us in the true joy of generosity, thus becoming imitators of the giving God.
Our City
read moreWe want to contribute to the flourishing arts scene in our city. We started Sputnik to do just that, providing inspiration, community and funding for faith-driven creatives. Mini Kidz is our long-standing Stay and Play Group in Bournville. It's free, Friday morning fun for pre-school-aged children (including babies), with story time, lots of toys and a healthy snack. Plus it's a supportive environment for parents and carers, with encouragement, welcome and a slice of cake thrown in! An annual sponsored run raising awareness and money for refugee causes in our city.
