Why Chiropractic
read moreChiropractic uses the recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery. Chiropractors use their hands to adjust the bones of the body to maintain the correct alignment of the spine. Today Chiropractic is recognised as the world's largest alternative healthcare discipline and the third largest primary health care profession in the UK after medicine & dentistry. Chiropractic is a method of adjusting the bones of the body to improve spinal and skeletal alignment. In doing so it helps your nervous system to work more efficiently, relieving pain and discomfort and increasing mobility.
Aromatherapy Massage
read moreAromatherapy combines the use of essential oils and therapeutic massage, and its benefits are widely recognised across health professions. Essential oils are derived from plants and possess natural healing properties, without harmful side-effects, and so are an ideal compliment to your chiropractic treatment. Your treatment will last approximately 45 minutes and if it is your first visit Imogen will take note of your medical history and taking a holistic approach will work out a massage treatment that specifically suits your needs.
Workstation Assessment
read moreDSE refers to visual display units or computer work stations and include's laptops, touch screens and other similar devices that are often used in the workplace. A poorly equipment and arranged work station is a major contributing factor in the development of many musculoskeletal disorders. For the DSE Health and Safety Regulation, employers must comply with certain basic requirements that ensure workstations are appropriately adjusted and that training is provided to avoid any unacceptable risk to health and safety.
How does it work
read moreChiropractic is a straightforward method of adjusting the bones of your body to maintain the correct alignment of your spine and to ensure that your body's nerve supply works efficiently. It seeks to eliminate the cause, not just treat symptoms, and through subtle adjustments, chiropractic care can relieve pain and discomfort, increase mobility and provide a route to better health. The spinal column is made up of 24 movable vertebrae, the Sacrum and the Coccyx. This column also houses the Spinal Cord through which nerve information is transmitted around the rest of the body.
Sports Massage
read moreA sports or deep tissue massage releases tension in the muscles and helps your body recover as quickly as possible from every day strains as well as sports injuries. Unlike classic massage therapy, which is used for relaxation, deep tissue massage usually focuses on a specific problem area. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Deep tissue massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue.
Kmi
read moreKMI sessions can be used to resolve particular problems, or as a "tonic" for your posture and what used to be called "carriage" - how you carry yourself through the world. How do you use your body? KMI can be seen as an extended course in reacquainting yourself with your moving body, whether you are a finely-tuned athlete, or a computer-bound couch potato. Most of us have collected extra tension through the course of our lives, either from injury or surgery, our repetitive activities, or attitudes we have acquired along the way.
FAQs
read moreYour first consultation & treatment will last approximately one hour. Your chiropractor will discuss your medical history and will make a full body assessment using his/her hands to establish the source of the problem and how it can be treated. A treatment plan will be then discussed and agreed with you before treatment commences. Many people find the treatment relaxing, due to the gentle & holistic nature of the McTimoney adjustment, although slight discomfort may be felt in the areas where misalignment is apparent.
