read moreWe have a specialist diabetic nurse. All Diabetic patients should attend the surgery annually for a full diabetic check (even if they are being see in secondary care also). Diabetic checks last 30 minutes. Our Chronic Disease Nuse is trained in the management of Asthma and COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease). All asthma and COPD patients should attend the surgery annually for a full check. Helios Medical Centre are part of the 4YP program which is aimed at giving easy access to a doctor or nurse for patients between 13 - 24 who wish to discuss any matters in confidence with a clinician.

Reception and administration staff require access to your medical records in order to do their jobs. These members of staff are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the medical staff. There is a patient leaflet available in the waiting room explaining how we handle your information. You should have received a letter regarding the first two (2014). You have not received a letter regarding the third or fourth initiatives. Information sheets about these are available from the surgery and on our website (www.heliosbristol.co.uk) should you require further information. A national system that takes a patients medication and allergies only, so that it is available if a patient is taken ill anywhere else in the country.
