Hall Farm
Guest House in Taunton, Somerset
Dating back to the 14th Century, the farmhouse is set in lovely grounds, with apple orchard and lawn to the front of the house. Beyond the lawn is a pretty old barn, dating back to the mid 1500s, and which was recently restored with a grant from English Heritage. The farm is situated next to the church, from which the sound of bells adds to the sense of peace and relaxation to be found here. In its heyday, the farm worked a herd of 25 dairy cattle, as well as rearing pigs and chickens. Sadly most of this has now gone, although beef cattle are still reared on the surrounding 80 acres of land.
