read moreHe has worked for several charities before setting up his own for disadvantaged young people at the age of 28. Since that time he has set up three limited companies and two community interest companies. His easy-going style has helped many organisations in a wide diversity of sectors to progress successfully. He has been designing and delivering learning and development interventions since the inception of Grass Routes. These include executive coaching, team and leadership development, graduate development, soft skills workshops, team building events and a wide range of consultancy assignments.

read moreOur approach is to develop the competence of the delegates who attend our training programmes. This means that we focus on developing practical skills as well as the knowledge of the delegates. Practical skills can only be developed through practice - therefore our programmes are highly interactive and participative. Typically, programmes will involve participants carrying out exercises in small groups, using materials that are familiar to them (for example their own company's forms, or case studies from their sector).

read moreThis workshop is for anyone experiencing pressure or change at work, it blends highly interactive exercises with theory. Small group work ensures that the workshops stay directly relevant to your needs, identifying common ground, searching for positive solutions and not allowing the session to be used as a dumping ground. This workshop explores the business case for managing pressure, your responsibilities to yourself and others, the causes of excessive pressure and our behavioural responses. We also explore how to avoid, cope with and action plan for excessive pressure.

read moreWe work with a wide range of clients, from individuals to large organisations. Because we tailor every intervention to the individual business, we find clients call upon us again and again, either as individuals moving to a new organisation, or when their teams require new interventions to help them face new challenges. These organisations have used us to create bespoke short, specific interventions to address an identified requirement, to mentor individuals and teams, or to design larger, multi-disciplined approaches to broader issues such as improving marketing or engaging better with customers.

Live, face to face interventions will have to wait until the new calendar year but online workshops are available throughout the academic year. We are offering you an opportunity to experience what your pupils have been experiencing when they have been lucky enough to attend a Grass Routes programme. During a programme from the outside it is often difficult to fully appreciate what exactly is going on for the participant and why Grass Routes seem to achieve such good results.

read moreDuring the review phase we will holistically explore your procedures, systems and people with a view to gaining a clear appreciation of the challenges facing your organisation and what their underlying causes are. Once we have clarity, we will write a report containing our recommendations. This is presented to you for assessment. A brief is then agreed and we can move to the design phase. In the first part of this phase where we aim to produce viable options for the client, who is consulted throughout the process ensuring that the solutions suggested are in line with expectations.
