The Practice has five GP Partners and one salaried GP working as part of the Primary Health Care Team. Together with the practice nurses, district nurses, community midwives and health visitors, with support from the managerial, reception and secretarial staffs, we strive to supply you with the fullest possible care. In addition to the usual general medical and nursing services, we currently have a number of tenants delivering private clinics in chiropody/podiatry, reflexology, physiotherapy and complementary therapies.

read moreOur patient care advisors can give you further information, they are trained care navigators and have completed courses in medical terminology. We also have patient care advisors who specialise in repeat prescribing. Patients at Blacketts are given a named GP who is responsible for your overall care at the practice. Please contact the practice if you wish to know who this is. We will make every effort possible to allow a preference in your named GP, but this is not always possible due to fairness in the GP workload.

read moreThe Practice was formed over 100 years ago, previously been located at Netherlaw Surgery in Stanhope Road, Darlington. Blacketts Medical Practice stands proud on Bondgate in Darlington. The Practice aims to provide the best quality care for the local community. All patients registered with Blacketts Medical Practice are allocated a named GP who has overall responsibility for the care and support provided to you by the practice. You can still access care from any member of our clinical team and this does not prevent you from seeing other doctors in the practice.
New Patients
read moreWe are contracted with Darlington CCG to provide general medical services for patients living within the boundaries of our Practice area - see map. To register, please call into the surgery to collect a registration form or download and print a copy and return to the surgery. You must also bring photo ID and proof of your current address with you, eg. a recent utility bill. We would hope to treat our patients in a polite and courteous manner and expect our patients to treat Doctors and Staff with the same level of respect.
Prescriptions
read moreRepeat prescriptions are medications which appear on the right hand side of your prescription and in your online profile which your doctor would like you to continue on a regular basis. Medications not shown here are not repeat prescriptions. Repeat prescriptions will be ready in 2 working days from your request. Please note if your prescription request is NOT for a repeat prescription it may not be possible to agree to your request, it will take longer to process and the doctor may wish to speak with you.
