The Beehive exudes a glorious thrown-together charm: newspapers are piled haphazardly on a dilapidated piano and the huge, crowded bar is cluttered with a random collection of wooden chairs and occasional chequerboard chess tables. Check the blackboard, however, and you will see this delightful little boozer is a brilliant place to eat, with an upstairs restaurant Serving seared Scallops on Black pudding with a tomato & corriander salsa as a starter.
