From point of contact we would arrange for a site visit to discuss the work that would be required from us, a quotation would be given there and then if possible or within a few days of initial site visit. If you decide to choose us to do your work, a work schedule will be arranged with all detailed on a contract. Our surveyor would then visit the site and draw any plans required for the work to be carried out.

As with driveways our surveyor would visit your property to discuss the job requirements and price accordingly. From dwarf walls to large retaining walls YDG carry out many throughout the year and have fully qualified bricklayers within the company. Most walls are to suit the existing surroundings and we would advise on survey providing samples where required.

Full replacement driveways are excavated, new sub base (as and when required), edging, drainage, minimum 50mm base coat and a minimum 25mm finish coat, all rolled and compacted to produce a great tarmacdam driveway. Block paved borders are becoming ever popular but this does increase the overall cost as does Red tarmacadam. Depending of the surface condition we can sometimes overlay an existing tarmac or concrete driveway.

Concrete is laid between 100 - 150mm depth with fibre mesh reinforcement. Concrete tamped drives are not as common as they used to be due to block and print but never the less we still do them. They offer a cheaper alternative to the other products. Concrete Flags are still a popular choice for many, 3' x 2' and 2' x 2', laid on a full mortar bed these flags will stand the test of time.
