Wildlives will supply care and basic medical treatment for wildlife, and ensure that a bird or animal gets veterinary treatment where required. With all animals brought into the Centre, the ultimate aim will be to release them back into the wild. In order to do this successfully, it is necessary to guarantee that they achieve a very top level of fitness and mobility (far in excess of that which would be sufficient for a residential pet) Furthermore, this must be done without 'taming' the animal. An animal with no fear of people will, sadly, not live very long in the wild.

During the lockdown period while so many people are gardening, here at Wildlives Rescue & rehabilitation we have noticed a massive increase in the number of hedgehogs sustaining injuries from strimmers and other gardening equipment. The majority of these injuries are so catastrophic as top require euthanasia.
