Whitworth Day Care Centre

In 1976, a group of people had a vision of creating a centre, in Whitworth whose sole purpose was to care for local people on a day-to-day basis, who were experiencing problems of looking after themselves. As a result of which, Whitworth Elderly and Disabled Care Trust opened the doors of Sunnybank Day Care Centre. Building on the success of the Day Care Centre, in 1986 the Trust opened Sunnyside Rest Home and by using a policy of recruiting well-trained team from the local area, it has become home from home for the residents who live there.
