About Us
read moreOur enchanting manor house has a rich and full-bodied history, dating back to around 1730 when it was the private home of the Fairfax Family. It changed ownership many times over the next couple of centuries, being handed down through a combination of families and parish Reverends. Notable owners during this period included Sir William Amcotts-Ingilby, M.P. From one of the richest families in Lincolnshire, he was renowned throughout the land for his jaunty style, wild clothes and idiosyncratic green hat!
Dress Code
read moreWe do occasionally receive a small amount of flak for allowing people dressed in a scruffy manner into the restaurant for dinner and Sunday lunch. We have, since 2008 never had an official dress code. Whilst the majority of our guests do like to dress up for dining at Washingborough Hall we don't feel it necessary to impose a formal rule governing this. Society is changing and as such we need to move with the times. A number of guests arrive at Washingborough Hall for the first time feeling embarrassingly underdressed - that is neither their fault nor ours so why should we compound the issue by causing more distress?
Our Menus
read moreOur team of chefs are talented, ambitious and eager to please. Working in close partnership Head Chef Mark Cheseldine together with our brigade of chefs have once again secured two AA Rosettes for the Restaurant at Washingborough Hall in July 2019. Our menus are a carefully curated selection of the region's finest produce. We are passionate about locally sourced goodness. These sample menus give you a taste of what's on offer; they change regularly, depending on what's good, fresh, and available locally.
