After successfully competing in N3 in the Mintex National Rally Championship, TSL Motorsport was approached by Loctite/Teroson to run one of Australia's leading drivers, Marty Beckton, in the British Rally Championship. The obvious choice of car was the Subaru. To become completely familiar with the engine, transmission and suspension as speedily as possible, we chose to build our own car - and our finest result in 1999 was seventh overall on the Rally of Scotland, winning us Best Independent Team and Best International Team.
