Set up in 1956 our bakery uses traditional processes and techniques that have been handed down from father to son over three generations, enabling us to provide the highest levels of breads and confectionery. At thomsonsbakery we're the sole producers of the now world famous Broon Ale bread as well as many more personal speciality breads, traditional breads and morning goods. We bake fresh daily our own array of savoury products and cakes all of which are on sale in our retail shop, which fronts our bakery.

Savoury Products
read moreThe flagship brand, NEW ZEALAND GOURMET PIES, were originally developed, scaled up and commercialised in conjunction with Ian Thomson in 2011. After Minhoco 21 acquired the assets of Geordie Bakers in May 2013, the pie production was fully integrated into the bakery; now known as "The Home of New Zealand Gourmet Pies". Completing the savoury range, we have recently launched a small range of GOURMET SAUSAGE ROLLS made from a high quality pork sausage meat wrapped in the gourmet flaky pastry.
