Unfortunately, our pets do not live as long as us and at some point, we will have to prepare to let them go. Sadly, few of our pets pass peacefully away in their sleep. Therefore, we all wish to do the right thing at the right time, fulfilling our responsibility and commitment in their final days. We hope these words will help you and your family in a time of conflicting emotions.
Pet Nutrition
read moreWe believe that nutrition is an important part of keeping pets healthy and can also play a vital part in the treatment of some illnesses. This is why we stock a select range of cat and dog pet food in practice, helping to take the faff out of pet food for our clients by recommending diets that have been scientifically created to provide optimal nutrition, which tastes great! Explore the guide to pet nutrition to discover the truth behind current trending diets and what your pet really needs for a balanced diet, or contact us to book in for a nutrition consultation with a member of the team.
Services
read moreWe are pleased to announce that starting in 2019 we are now able to laparoscopic "keyhole" surgery. Keyhole spays require advanced equipment to perform and a significant investment in equipment and training. For this reason very few practices offer this service but we are pleased to now offer this facility. Keyhole surgery has been used in human medicine for many years and is shown to reduce surgical trauma and provide quicker recoveries compared to "open" surgeries. These same advantages can now be provided for your pet!
Emergencies
read moreYou may never need to use the full range of services we offer, but registering your pets with us for their routine care ensures the best of attention at all times. Our Hospital is staffed overnight and at other out-of-hours times by dedicated vets and nurses who are skilled in the sort of emergencies that occur to pets at these times - from road accidents to Caesarean sections, poisonings to haemorrhages, painful problems to convulsions and many others. The telephone here will be answered by one of the receptionists, nurses or vets on duty and your emergency will be given priority attention at the Hospital as appropriate.
Services
read moreMany commonly used medicines including ear drops and flea preparations are licensed as prescription only medicines (POMs). This is usually for safety reasons. We are not able to prescribe or dispense such medicines unless the animal is considered to be "under our care". This means that the animal should have been examined for many conditions every 3 to 6 months, but at the very minimum within the last 12 months, depending on the medication. We know that this may be frustrating but we have to fulfil our legal obligations in responsible prescribing.
