About Us
read moreFormed in 1996, the Historical Group, part of the CLCGB family, is making a positive contribution within The Brigade. Our membership is varied, encompassing all ages and interests, from Edinburgh to South Africa no less! We have built up a friendly and constructive relationship with our counterparts the Historical Group of the Newfoundland Church Lads' Brigade in Canada. We share a desire to learn about our heritage in a constructive way. We aim to educate members using attractive and interactive methods and an historical information sheet "Looking Back" has been produced along with numerous fact-sheets.

In fulfilling these aims we encourage children to work together as a team with each child bringing his or her individual gifts and abilities to the team.

We have a dedicated team of development workers supported by leaders from the area around you who can help you to start up and run a CLCGB group. They will help you advertise and organise an introduction night, organise displays by other CLCGB members, help you identify potential leaders and lead them through the starting up of a company.

With the CLCGB's excellent reputation for keeping our members and leaders safe, you can be assured that when you drop your child off on a Brigade evening, or when going on a trip or camp that they are in our safe hands. All our leaders are trained in the CLCGB around the programmes we offer, Safeguarding, responding in emergencies and how to handle child protection concerns.

read moreThe CLCGB is the Church of England's Uniformed Youth Organisation. By volunteering with us, you can help us create fantastic opportunities for thousands of boys and girls across the UK and Northern Ireland. The CLCGB exists by it's volunteers - men and women like you who give their time to ensure that we are active all over the UK and Northern Ireland. Our incredible volunteers contribute around half a million hours to the CLCGB every year. Some give a couple of hours here and there - helping out with driving for trips and holidays, fundraising, running the tuck shop.
